The Lima, Peru Missionary Training Center was dedicated August 27, 1998, by Elder Russell M. Nelson, member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. In the dedicatory prayer, Elder Nelson prayed that, ¨this place be a refuge from the storms of life and a beacon of faith to all who come under its influence.¨

This MTC serves church members who have been called to serve in the missions of Peru and Bolivia. Missionaries have come to receive their training from the countries of Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina.

Here, in an environment of reverence, faith, love, trust, and mutual respect, missionaries come to know their Heavenly Father better and acquire a quiet power of testimony that allows them to help others understand and accept the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, receive the ordinances of salvation, and live to enjoy the blessings of Eternal Life. Returned missionaries model good teaching habits, and Spanish speakers help non-Spanish speakers learn the native language of Peru and Bolivia
